Certified disposal and recycling in Munich
We separate on site into bulky waste, wood, metal, paper, electrical equipment and hazardous waste, and bill by weight: €47.60 per 100 kilograms including VAT. Paints, oils and chemicals have their own per-litre rates, published in full. We do not accept asbestos.
What does disposal cost on a clearance?
€47.60 per 100 kilograms including VAT, that is €40.00 net. A two-room flat typically puts 800 kilograms on the scales, so €380.80 of disposal; a detached house three to five tonnes, so €1,428 to €2,380.
We itemise disposal rather than folding it into the hourly rate. That is harder to communicate but it is the only way you can check the figure: weighbridge tickets evidence the weight, and less disposed of means less paid.
So pre-sorting pays where it actually removes weight. Stacking books and waste paper separately saves real money, as does green waste from the garden. Taking clothing to a textile bank saves almost nothing — it barely weighs anything.
How much does the contents of a flat weigh?
As a rule of thumb, 10 to 15 kilograms per square metre of living space with normal furnishing. A 60 m² flat therefore sits at 600 to 900 kilograms. Walls of books, workshops and full cellars push that up; sparsely furnished flats well down.
Is municipal bulky-waste collection cheaper than a clearance?
For individual pieces of furniture, yes — Munich's bulky-waste collection is the cheapest route for private households if you can carry things down yourself and wait for a slot. As soon as somebody has to carry, sort and drive, the hourly rate is the better deal.
What does electrical waste disposal cost?
Electrical equipment goes through the mandated take-back routes and is counted in the weight without an extra fee. Refrigeration units containing coolant are the exception: they must be transported undamaged, which costs time — so please mention them in advance.
What does disposing of paint, oil and chemicals cost?
Liquid paints, varnishes, adhesives and solvents cost €7.50 per litre, waste oil and fuel residues €9.50 per litre, acids and alkalis €12.00 per litre, aerosol cans with contents €3.50 each and fluorescent tubes €4.50 each. A base fee of €45.00 applies once per order. All including VAT.

Two cases cost nothing. Batteries and rechargeable cells we take free of charge under statutory retailer take-back. Dried emulsion paint is not hazardous waste and goes with general waste at no surcharge — if you dry out liquid residue with sawdust or newspaper before we arrive, you avoid the per-litre rates entirely.
Doesn't the recycling centre accept problem waste free of charge?
For private individuals and in household quantities, yes: up to 25 kilograms per day at the recycling centres and the mobile collection. Above that, the Wertstoffhöfe plus in Langwied and Freimann charge €3 per kilogram from the first kilogram, payable by EC card only.
Why does the free allowance not apply to you?
Because waste we remove from a customer's property arises in the course of our commercial activity. The household allowance for private individuals does not cover it. That is exactly why we itemise disposal instead of hiding it inside the hourly rate — you would be paying for it either way.
How much may a business dispose of via the Giftmobil?
At most 500 kilograms of problem waste per year. That is enough for a small trade business, not for clearing a workshop. Larger quantities go through the regular documented disposal route, which is the one we use.
Do you dispose of asbestos?
No. We do not accept asbestos or asbestos-containing materials. Where it is suspected we stop work at the affected point and refer you to a certified specialist. Removal and disposal require documented expertise under TRGS 519 — this is not a question of goodwill.
Typical places it turns up in older Munich buildings: corrugated cement sheets on garages and sheds, planters and window sills of asbestos cement, old night-storage heaters, floor coverings and adhesives from the 1960s to 1980s, and gaskets on old boilers. If you suspect any of it, photograph it and send it in — then we settle it before the appointment rather than during it.
What we can do: carry out the rest of the clearance normally and leave the suspect area untouched so the specialist can take over cleanly. In practice that is the fastest route, because both jobs can run in parallel.
The streams we separate into
Bulky waste
Furniture, mattresses, carpets, household goods. The largest share by weight and the basis of the per-100-kg charge.
Wood
Treated and untreated kept apart. Wardrobes are dismantled, or the volume doubles the number of trips.
Metal
Scrap, shelving, bicycles, radiators. Goes to recovery, though it does not offset the other streams.
Paper and cardboard
On commercial jobs, plus GDPR-compliant file destruction to DIN 66399 with certification.
Electrical equipment
Refrigeration, cookers, televisions, IT. Via the mandated take-back routes, never general waste.
Hazardous waste
Paints, varnishes, solvents, waste oil, acids, aerosols, fluorescent tubes. Separate transport, disposal certificate.

How do you evidence the disposal?
With weighbridge tickets from the disposal operators. For hazardous waste you also receive a disposal certificate, and for file destruction a certificate to DIN 66399. On request we attach the documents to the invoice.
What is included in the €47.60 per 100 kg?
The landfill and recovery fees plus handling of the separated streams. It does not include hazardous waste, which has its own per-litre rates, or the working time, which is billed as the hourly rate.
Will you take fridges?
Yes. Fridges and freezers must be transported undamaged because of the coolant, which takes a little more time. Please mention them in advance so they are allowed for in the quote.
What happens to usable furniture?
Genuinely usable pieces are offered to charity shops. That reduces your disposal weight and therefore your invoice directly. There is no credit for resale value.
Can you provide a skip?
For most jobs it is not necessary — we work with a vehicle and trailer and drive straight to recovery. For very large volumes a skip makes sense; we then arrange it and itemise it separately.
Do you dispose of building rubble?
In smaller quantities, yes. Rubble is heavy and billed through its own stream. For larger volumes from a renovation a skip is the cheaper solution, and we will tell you so.
What about batteries?
We take them free of charge under statutory retailer take-back. Please flag lithium batteries from e-bikes or power tools separately; they must be transported apart because of the fire risk.
